Building Contract Formation & Case Law

On Tuesday G4C Yorkshire hosted a breakfast event in conjunction with CIOB at Shulmans LLP in Leeds presenting building contract formation & case law. The event had over 50 people in attendance and was a great success.

The event looked at disputes in construction and engineering industries which often arise from problems occurring at the contract formation stage and how the risks in a construction project should be properly allocated.

It is crucial to have a clear understanding of these complex issues to avoid being tripped up. This one hour event featured a case study focusing on problems relating to contract formation and payment. The seminar also concluded with an overview of the key changes in the new JCT 2016 contracts which have been published to date.
